Khalsa Dewan

The Khalsa Dewan founded in 1907 nurtured a belief that no nation can prosper without imparting quality education to its women as women play an important role in creating a strong and enlightened society.

Thereafter, under the leadership and missionary zeal of Sant Attar Singh Ji of Mastuana, this 'noble' cause of educating the girl child was initiated by laying the foundation stone of Malwa Khalsa High School at Ludhiana in 1907. The impact of this movement was so enormous that Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, a great social thinker and reformer invited Sant Attar Singh Ji to lay the foundation stone of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1914. Sant ji gave great emphasis in promoting education and imbibing spiritualism, social values and ethics amongst the students.

With the passage of time, Members of Khalsa Dewan provided impetus to this movement with matching enthusiasm and worked on the lines of “SARBAT DA BHALA.”

With the blessings of “Waheguru”, the Almighty, a dedicated team of visionaries carried forward this mission by fostering the growth of the following independent educational institutions under them since inception of the Khalsa Dewan.

  • Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana (Estd. 1907)
